Château Caronne-Ste.-Gemme is a very reliable Cru Bourgeois property located at the southern extreme of St. Laurent, west of St.Julien in the Haut-Médoc. Owned by Jean and Francois Nony, the property consists of 45 hectares of vineyards and produces over 20,000 cases a year.
Caronne-Ste.Gemme is typically a blend of 55% Cabernet Sauvignon, 43% Merlot and 2% Petit Verdot. The wine is matured in oak barriques (20% new) for 15 months.
Caronne-Ste.-Gemme produces a dry claret which displays good depth of fruit as well as notable tannins. Best drunk between 5 and 10 years old.
