19 September 2012 · 12:30 · St. Brelade's Bay Beach – Oyster Box and Crab Shack
BackMore than 2,000 spectators watched former England Polo team captain Andrew Hine lead his Banjo side to a win in the inaugural Jersey Beach Polo Tournament, which was organised by Jersey Pottery. The team, which also featured islander Ian Tait and Alec Banner-Eve, defeated Zolfo Cooper in extra time. Hundreds of people enjoyed a meal in the Jersey Pottery restaurants, the Oyster Box and Crab Shack before the tournament either as a guest of the sponsors or on a private table. There was a private enclosure with field-side views of the action framed by the beautiful bay and free access to watch the tournament from the beach. Next year’s tournament is provisionally planned for September 20, 2013. Make a note in your diaries!
